Updated on Dec. 22, 2022:
Are you looking for a fast-tracked way to acquire EU residency or even citizenship? Consider Greece — the Golden Visa through property investment is currently the cheapest in Europe, setting the minimum at €250,000. But only for a few more days….
On December 21st, 2022 the Greek Ministry of Development submitted the amendment of the law into parliament to raise the Golden Visa minimum from 250,000EUR to 500,000EUR. This price hike makes the Golden Visa Program less attractive and attainable for many potentially interested.
Nevertheless, the amendment specified the increase will only affect the following areas: North, South and Central Athens, Mykonos, Santorini and the Municipality of Thessaloniki.
For the rest of the country, the minimum value of the property will remain at 250,000EUR.
Wait, there’s a smidge of time left!
According to the amendment, if you’re a non-EU citizen (citizens of 3rd countries) you have until December 31, 2023, to complete the contracts already in progress for the regions affected by the changing rules. However, you must have put down a 10% deposit on the property by April 30, 2023. If these conditions are met, you can obtain the Golden Visa at the minimum cost of 250,000EUR to purchase a property anywhere in the country.
Let us remind you of the benefits accompanying Greece’s Golden Visa…. They are immense! Securing residency in Greece enables:
- applicable to any type of real estate
- access to Greek healthcare and education
- visa-free travel throughout the Schengen Zone
- rent your property
- residency for your family
- no expiry on stay as long as you maintain investment (renew your RP every 5 years)
- no requirement to live in Greece
- apply for Greek citizenship after 7 years
